Paulie the tank engine

here is a little story that I have written and hope to some day have published as a children s book just thought I would share it with everyone.

On the Island of Sunningdale, there is a little five year old Steam Engine that I know. His name is Paulie he is not afraid because he has no fear at all. Now Paulie is a Steam Engine whose firebox works a little differently than most Steam Engines on the Island of Sunningdale, this is because he processes his coal in a different way than most do. He cannot always feel when the water level is getting to be too low or if he has too much water ,but he still Manages to do what jobs have been given to him though the day. When the sun goes down you can find Paulie at the wash down getting his Nightly scrub down by his driver He is always all full of love and has a smile on his little boiling face. Paulie sometimes has trouble talking with some of the other Engines that he works with here on the Island of Sunningdale but his best friend is Jennifer. Jennifer is the Engine that pulls the Express she is a steam Engine as well and she is always on time Jennifer helps Paulie when He runs into any Trouble when she has the time.

The next day Paulie was pulling his two coaches named Angel and Tyler who were full of children going to school now Angel and Tyler really do not like each other but they will tolerate each other when they have to work together. Now on this Particular day they were both misbehaving so badly that Paulie had to take Angel back to the where the coaches were Stored after dropping the Children off at school because the children Complained about Angels Behavior. For the Afternoon he had a Brand new coach that Sir Mike had just acquired the coaches name was Wally. Wally was a joy to work with he did what ever Paulie asked him too. By the end of the day Paulie only wanted to work with Wally and Tyler when pulling the Children or any other passengers. Wally and Tyler never once Argued or misbehaved.

Later when shunting some cars for Sir Mike Paulie was shunting one particular car whose name was Elizabeth and boy did she have a mind of her own. What ever direction Paulie wanted her to go well this little car always wanted to go in the opposite Direction. Paulie Finally got so mad at her that he told her that if she did not behave and do as he had asked then he would Tell Sir Mike about her unruly Behavior. Well she kept it on so Paulie had his driver tell Sir Mike about it and Sir Mike told Elizabeth that she would only be hauling Rubbish in her car for a week until she could learn to behave better.

Sir Mike was very proud of Paulie for he had finally learned how to feel when his water level was getting to high or too low. Now this had been a Problem for little Paulie the Tank Engine but he has Finally Mastered this Art and continues to look ahead with his funnel held High. If you Listen Real closely at night when you are in bed trying to sleep you might even be Able to hear him puffing " I think I can I think I can and then it may suddenly change to "I knew I could I knew I could"
